Kate. Subdued = raped?

Okay.. this seems a little obscene, but it really is not, cause there aren't any details.

..Patrick said:

"...bridal chamber."

Kate and Patrick exit.

Sounds of things being thrown about.

Godfrey says that Patrick is throwing things about..

But he came out DIRECTLY after Patrick. And the sounds of things being thrown about probably wouldn't have come on yet.

Patrick re-enters.

"So I have subdued..."

Question: How did he SUBDUE Kate?

Possible answer: By raping her.

Oh, and honestly honestly, I'm not joking. I really want to understand my character and what went on.

Its quite funny, though.

Any other possible answers? Any help will be DEEPLY appreciated.

Drama-less

Today's rehearsal was cancelled. Duh.

I had actually planned to sit down and practise my lines for one hour.

Didn't in the end. :D

This is NOT the attitude that should be adopted, people!

Come, lemme tell you all a little story.

On Wednesday, we girls had a meeting.

My school ends at 1.15pm on Wednesdays. Drama starts at 3pm.

That's one hour and forty-five minutes to waste.

That day, Berlyn disappeared (I didn't know why, but later I found out she went to see a doctor. But she came back from Drama anyways. Learn from her. :D), and no one else was out of class yet.

I followed the CO (Chinese Orchestra) girls. Sat outside the CO room for one hour and thirty to forty minutes memorising lines, and going through the other parts, reciting my lines aloud.

I was sitting alone cause my other friends were having their own conversation.

I had my file open on my lap. I was wearing my drama t-shirt and my PE shorts. DUH I'm from Drama, no? And DUH I'm holding a script, no?

Okay.. Behind me were CO juniors doing their Mathematics homework (I could hear them.).

They started giggling.

"She's talking to herself! *giggles*"

"*giggles* Should we tell her?"

"..I don't know how to find x.. *giggles* Should we ask her?"

"She's still talking to herself! *giggles madly*"

*rolls her eyes* I'm RECITING lines. Its SO obvious. I'm wearing a DRAMA t-shirt.

..How amusing. And no, I wasn't annoyed.

hey ho hello!

nadia here.
cracks up.
okay. i feel superly extraded, but i shall blog anyway.

NADIA'S VERSION. aka the more worth reading one.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHS. jkjkjk.

gissy and i have elect geog tgthr. and as it is a hundred and twenty percent boring, our brains tend to wander. thus, we started talking about emdd. i was gushing bout how romantic the last part is and she was rolling her eyes while attempting to memorise. hahahahs.

then once she thought she had nailed it (coughcough) she looked at me and said, come test me. and that made me think of patrick's line. so i said in an attempt to sound like hsuan te :

*drops voice and looks sexy* " Come, test me Kate "

to which gissy replied

*looks revolted and giggling madly* " EWWWWW NADDY! "

hahahahs. yes it was hilarious.

okaypokays im not gna do the two journal entries because i dont have a role ): boohoohoo. why did i not audition again. oh yes. because its our o level year.

O LEVEL YEAR. grins at gissy and berlyn.

okaypokes. happy studying you sji people, you're not alone in your misery.

nadia.
Don't ask me why. During Geography today, Naddy suddenly said something very very revolting.

Naddy: "Come, test me, Kate!"

Me: "Eww, Naddy!"

Okay.. Reminder to EVERYONE:

Do NOT forget to write your two diary entries. Whether or not your rehearsals AGES away, just make sure you write the diary entries early. Respect yourself and this production, people. And I really don't want to see anyone asked to leave rehearsals.

(Girls: ALL of you! Bring your diary entries tomorrow. That's the twenty-second of February, 2006. Wednesday. :D)

In case anyone doesn't know what to do (and PLEASE tell your friends if they aren't aware):

Write two diary entries as the character you're playing on two key moments in the play. If you play both the first and second cast characters.. I'm not sure. I think you do your first cast ones, but its better to do two each for both characters. Just in case. Can anyone clarify this?

Third is worst, your backside burst. (Or mine, rather.)

Anyways, posting here just for fun.

Really don't see the point of having this blog, so I shall MAKE a point!

Its gonna make me look superly serious and boring.. But just hang on till the end of the list!

Here's what we've to observe (I took all these down from all the rehearsals :D):
- Don't shuffle your feet.
- Don't keep transferring your weight from one foot to the other.
- Be confident.
- Make the audience relate to you. Engage the audience in the play (not literally).
- Tell a story, share it.
- Don't get carried away, be in control of your words.
- Be aware of positions and blockings.
- Be in the scene. React, emote your words.
- Express yourself clearly.
- Make sure your lines don't sound rehearsed. Every rehearsal/performance is new. "You've NEVER done it before in your entire life."
- Pay attention to entrances and exits.
- Be aware of misintepretation of text. Understand your lines.
- Understand others' lines.
- Find motivations for your lines and/or actions.
- Make everything you do matter and contribute to the play.
- Be articulate and project your voice. (..If you need help with projection, ask me.)
- Play with heights.
- Don't rush through the words.

Another thing.. There's something called SELF-DISCIPLINE. Don't know how to? I don't know how to help you. Just go to www.google.com and search for tips on how to discipline yourself.

All I can say is: Know the limits of your fun. You -can- be serious and have fun at the same time.

And these two are the most important.. Through my own experience, and observing others. Its not that I don't do it, but I get a guilty conscience when I do any of these.
- Respect others.
- Respect yourself.

How?
1. Don't talk/whisper/yell/communicate with another person while others are acting.

My teacher once said this, and I found that it made perfect sense. "If Jesus was talking, and you were close by, would you speak?"

I don't care what your religion is at the moment, so don't say that because you don't believe in Jesus, this example isn't valid for you. And don't try to work your way around my words. I'm too lazy to make it foolproof now, and it means what it means in the simplest (or so I think) way (in my opinion).

Also, there's definitely something to learn from whatever they're doing.

This isn't a very simple feat, but we can make rehearsing slightly more pleasant, if not entirely.

2. More seriously.. DON'T use any electronic devices during rehearsals if possible. Especially when people're are rehearsing.

If you're not in the scene, and you're just watching the cast members perform, and you using your electronic device(s) doesn't affect anyone.. still DON'T use those electronic devices..

If you're IN the scene, even more so. DON'T use those electronic devices. No respect for yourself, and no respect for the other cast members, and no respect for the instructor.

This one.. Is far easier to accomplish. Simple discipline. The "basic-est" of the basics.

Understand? If you don't understand, ask me. Or anyone else who does.
